Volunteer Information

Volunteer buttonThank you for your interest in becoming a Nicola’s Kids Triathlon Volunteer!

This is a great opportunity to get involved in the community, encourage kids in sport and indirectly benefit the fine work being done by the MFM research program at Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto!

Many of the jobs are "simple” requiring little training or orientation to perform. Team Leader’s will be picked ahead of time and will be asked to come to an orientation four weeks prior to the race.

Volunteers receive a t-shirt, lunch, community service hours and the satisfaction of  encouraging hundreds of children to complete the course.

We will need Volunteer’s for the ENTIRE day of the event. A schedule appears below.

Site-Clean-up

  • The breaking down of tents, tables, lights and other equipment
  • Packing and storing equipment into containers
  • Loading of equipment into vehicles and/or storage containers
  • This is an opportunity to lend a hand to ensure that the area's we use in the race (primarily Bayview Glen, 225 Moatfield, Betty Sutherland Trail) are clear of litter.
  • It is our hope that "no one will know that we were there" once the clean-up has finished.
These are brief descriptions of some of the "major” jobs. Lot’s of "little” things always crop up and volunteers who finish work at an early job (e.g. water station number one or some of the early turns) can always lend a hand at the start/finish area setting up for the finish.

Students are provided letters confirming their participation and outlining the number of hours volunteered in this community endeavour. Please make sure you let us know that you require a letter!!!
