Volunteer Form

We are proud to raise money for our charity partner – the MFM Research Program, Department of Haematology/Oncology at Sick Kids Hospital. 

Our race is located at Bayview Glen School, south of 401 between Don Mills and Leslie. The race route spans the Duncanmills, Moatfield roads and Betty Sutherland Trail. 

If you are interested in volunteering for Nicola’s Kids Triathlon for MFM Research, please submit the form below indicating that you'd like to volunteer, and your interests. You are helping the YellowBalloon Projects as it is the charity's role to bring together volunteers for the race. We will be contacting volunteers approximately four weeks prior to the race with your assignments and instructions for information pickup and training. Know that you don't need to have any triathlon experience to volunteer as there are many different jobs available. Signing up early helps us in our planning and we appreciate it. All volunteers get a free t-shirt. 

Volunteers are needed in many capacities and at different times throughout the day and early evening. We have the greatest need for volunteers from 10:30AM Sunday morning until 6:30pm. We also have a shift for Race Kit Pick-up on Saturday morning and afternoon as well a clean up-shift Sunday early evening. Shift lengths can vary based on duties. 

Duties include those typical of a triathlon. Helping and encouraging children in any of the three events, swimming, cycling and running, providing marshalling/route direction assistance for participants and assisting participants at the start/finish line (retrieving time chips, monitoring the routes, etc.) 

We are pleased to provide all students taking part in our event with a letter referencing the time spent volunteering at the race for the benefit of Sick Kids Foundation. Volunteers are provided with food and drinks during their shifts. 

Students may register to volunteer individually or as a school group. For more information or to register to volunteer please email volunteer@YellowBalloon.org specifying your name, email address and first and second choice of shift. Where possible we will honour your request.
